I was drawn to the brightness of daffodils—their open forms, their warmth at the center, and the way they naturally create movement when gathered together. Placing them in a vivid pink vessel allowed the composition to feel playful yet balanced, while the citrus at the base introduced another note of brightness and familiarity.

Throughout the process, I focused on building the flowers with confident, textured marks so they would feel animated and tactile rather than delicate or overly polished. I wanted the paint itself to carry part of the energy of the arrangement. At the same time, I kept the background simple so the color relationships and forms could remain clear.
